It isn’t possible for one to simply determine why some people fear driving. Different people go through different experiences and this means their reasons differ. It would be difficult to determine why a particular person doesn’t do so.
It is however possible for these people to share a common experience that could have caused them to develop the fear of driving.
Car accidents are the main cause of people not desiring to drive again and this may be a general reason. Being involved in any accident is always dangerous but it is known that having to experience this event inside a car is a very threatening occurrence and scares many people.
It’s always difficult to determine who takes the incident more traumatically than the other, that is the one who was hit or the one who hit. In most cases they all take it as a bad experience and they both get scared that they may experience the same in case they are in a car or near the road again. This memory is always fresh to their minds.
Even someone that was responsible for the occurrence of the accident may be bothered and fear to have to cause this accident again.
Chances are that a driver will associate the accident to their being in the car at that moment the accident occurred and to many, there are symptoms that arise as well as panic and they feel that they should never drive again.
Some of the passengers that were present during the accident as well as those that were involved in a hit and run may be traumatized. Even though they are not actual drivers, they may fear to drive.
With all these kinds of experiences, an individual may detest the entire idea of learning how to drive a motor vehicle because they may have the fear of causing an accident of being the actual victims of the accident.
